Vampires do cast a reflection on various surfaces since light is absorbed, and reflected by everything in our physical reality in the same general manner. The only exceptions are those employing magic such as Glamour spells. There are also those with PSI powers to bend light to their will. We also have paranormal creatures who might naturally alter light in certain ways, or be invisible to a great many people. Extremely powerful ancient vampires may have the ability to hypnotize individuals into thinking they’re not there thus simulating invisibly. For some supernatural beings who appear normal to the human eye, the photons that compose light are sometimes transformed. Especially the living dead ones that include Vampires. When these altered photons come in contact with certain reactive substances there can be paranormal effects. Silver is one of these substances that is also a potentially deadly repellent to vampires!
To Reflect Or Not To Reflect?
In the case of mirrors, they were virtually all made of silver-coated glass before the advent of aluminum manufacturing in the 20th century. Now, most mirrors are made using cheaper aluminum rather than silver. However, silver is still used in some expensive mirrors, and antique ones will always exist. The myth of a vampire having no reflection came from the many centuries when mirrors were almost exclusively made with silver. So vampires do have reflections but not when photons of light bounced off them only to cascade upon silver surfaces. Needless to say, many vampires were relieved when the widespread use of the silver mirror came to an end. Unfortunately, vampires who travel in wealthy elite circles will end up at social engagements in mansions that still employ silver mirrors. A dangerous dead giveaway to any Vampire Slayers in the vicinity! Despite this vampires can sense the silver when they are close enough as it is toxic to them. This allows them to avoid the mirrors to some extent. However, all mirrors and reflective surfaces pose an issue when holy light enters the picture.
The Distortion Of Holy Light
Sunlight or other abundant sources of holy light destroy the dark shadows they hide within. The blessed light reflected onto silver and aluminum mirrors cast the vampire’s image in a deeply distorted manner. The reflection within sunny photons is far more hideous in silver mirrors. It neutralizes the demonic element that prevents silver reflection. Most vampires will begin displaying properties of spontaneous combustion in bright holy light making the mirror a moot point. Although if it’s merely a candle or lamp light blessed by a priest then it will only be painful rather than deadly. Even those with some level of sunlight tolerance, magical countermeasures, or consuming paranormal protective substances such as Gnome’s Blood will still find their reflections mutated. Their exposure as a member of the nocturnal sanguine suckers set is almost a guarantee.
Paranormal Interaction With Photons Of Light
The exact alteration of the photons is unknown as further study is required by paranormal quantum physicists. One theory is that photons, being the source of electromagnetism, are somehow uniquely refracted by the special EM field frequency various supernatural beings radiate. The same electromagnetic field, or aura, that makes a wide variety of paranormal creatures appear distorted in photos, and videos. This includes beings of both good and evil. Plausibly these photons then end up not hitting the mirror in the standard manner. This is true of some supernatural beings but vampires still appear normal in aluminum-based mirrors within non-holy light. That is until you get it within an inch or so of their face. Then you can see some distortion. That alarmingly altered image is exponentially greater in the aforementioned holy light.
Demonic Energy Infests Sainted Photons
The most likely explanation is that the photons of light are absorbing the dark demonic metaphysical energy of the vampire’s aura or EM field. The aura of most biological beings comes from the Chakra energy centers where two forms of energy meet. The physical energy from the surrounding environment that includes food and the metaphysical energy of the soul. In the case of vampires that would be blood and the evil energy of the patron demon who started their vampire family line. The light bouncing off a vampire acquires that demonic energy and then negatively interacts with the mirrors. Those vampires who fight their evil nature do tend to at least emit a ghostly image in silver mirrors while almost appearing normal in aluminum-based ones. This is them at least having a minor connection with their human soul in defiance of the demons of Hell! Unfortunately, this is a rarity in the vampire world!
Do Other Demonic Beings Display Reflections In Mirrors?
Most demonic-based beings have an aversion to silver. It has always been one of Mother Nature’s consistent gifts in the purification of paranormal perplexities! Werewolves are the most infamous for this. Interestingly enough, despite silver being far more deadly to Werewolves they do have a reflection in silver mirrors with varying levels of distortion. In human form, we don’t see this. This means vampires possess far greater evil energies than the Werewolf. In addition, First Generation Vampires are not only invisible in silver mirrors but appear somewhat distorted on all reflective surfaces. Even on the surface of still water. Although you have to look closely. Even greater forms of evil such as Demi-Demons are invisible in silver mirrors and distorted in all other mirrors as well no matter what type of light is reflected. This demonstrates the power of their dark aura electromagnetic field and its major refraction properties. The bottom line is if a person doesn’t appear normal in a mirror then it’s time to hightail it out of there!🧛♀️
