2021-2022 School Year News
2021 Announcements
- 📚September 7th-10th, 2021: Orientation for new students. Each student gets to meet Headmaster McTavish in person during the four days.
- 🍁September 13th, 2021: Welcome Back! The 2021-2022 school year begins for all grades as Autumn and Halloween approach. Headmaster Ian McTavish addresses the entire school before classes begin. This includes The Invocation Of Sainted Spirits Ritual. This magical ceremony calls upon fallen Professors and Students for guidance and protection in the new school year. Local Nature Deities are also invoked for protection as well.
- 🎃October 29th-November 5th, 2021: Halloween Samhain Autumn Break. Many students will go home to be with their families during this sacred time of magical celebration. Those staying at school will be able to partake of the special rituals of the season.
- 🎄December 19th, 2021-January 3rd, 2022: Winter Yule Break. Those students who remain will be treated to personal Christmas gift delivery by Santa Claus along with a separate trip to North Pole City. There is also The Rebuking Of The Anti-Claus Ceremony.🎅
2022 Announcements
- ❄️January 3rd, 2022: Students return from Winter Yule Break.
- 🐺January 17th, 2022: The Wolf Moon Ceremony. Features the Werewolf students showing off their mastery of transformation and personal control in defiance of the Full Moon. Together they act like a werewolf pack with the Alpha being the senior-most student possessing the best skills and grades in all classes. Headmaster Ian McTavish sometimes performs a magical transmogrification on himself if he observes the Alpha or enough other werewolf students feeling a little too full of themselves. He transforms into a giant Apex Alpha Werewolf to assert his ultimate dominance!
- 🕳️February 2nd, 2022: Groundhog Day Ceremony. The resident Groundhog Grover comes out of his hole to predict future weather. As is the case most years it was cloudy so Grover didn’t see his shadow and Spring will arrive early. A junior coven tried to make a fake sun to trick Grover but Headmaster McTavish halted the magical activity!
- 💘February 14th, 2022: Saint Valentines Day Love Spell Contest
- 🍀March 16-18, 2022: The Magic Of Luck Seminars hosted by Leprechauns. Each student will incorporate the seminar into the curriculum of one class with the aid of their Professor. Students may spend more time with permission from a professor. March 17th will feature a visit from Saint Patrick himself!
- 🌼March 20th, 2022: Spring Equinox Ostara Ceremony. Special Guests Spring Goddess Ēostre in physical form along with The Easter Bunny!🐇
- ☘️March 21st-28th, 2022: Spring Break. Students who stay during the break may utilize the school grounds at their leisure free of any passes from dawn to the Witching Hour.
- 🃏April 1st, 2022: The April Fool Trials. Headmaster McTavish has always been a good sport about The April Fool pranking him. This year he has employed The Fool to strategically prank students for the purposes of utilizing magic to counter-prank.
- 🐇April 17th, 2022: Enchanting Easter Ceremony. The Easter Bunny will be the guest of honor briefly hosting a magical Easter egg hunt before hopping away to continue his seasonal rounds. Various eggs will contain special powers, potions, and spells. Some will be delicious candy!
- 📜June 10th-15th, 2022 – Final Exams
- 🎓June 16th – June 17th, 2022: Graduation Ceremonies held throughout a two-day period. This includes Elementary, Intermediate, High School, Collegiate Levels, and the awarding of new Professorships at McTavish. Each school level has a Valedictorian & Salutatorian who gives a speech at their respective ceremonies around the campus. In the afternoon of the 17th the Grand Salutatorian gives the Salutation speech while the Grand Valedictorian gives the Valediction speech to the entire school. Often they are on their way to a Professorship. During the evening a grand ceremony and party takes place for all students to hear the Commencement Speaker. This year’s Commencement Speech will be given by Alchemist Edelweiss Wu from China. He will speak of his work melding magic and science into one enchanted entity for the betterment of humankind.
- 🌞June 16th – September 12th, 2022: Many students will take full or partial Summer Vacation. Others will take classes throughout the Summer. Particularly those who attend standard public or private schools throughout the year and only train in magic at McTavish for these three months. Newly minted Professors will also train during this time so they can hold their first classes in Autumn. Various orphaned students and a handful of Professors call the Magic School their full time home. Although they often leave for a time during the Summer to travel and find adventure around the world!

- ❄️January 6th, 2020: Students return from Winter Yule Break.
- 🦠Early 2020: The McTavish International Academy Of Magical Sciences continues to remain open throughout the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic! As a Supernatural school of magical masters there is no chance the disease can take hold. Is that to say that the magical community could cure Coronavirus or any other disease for that matter? Technically, they could to an extent but they are forbidden from any mass alteration of the natural order of human society as sanctioned by The Supernatural Secrecy Pact and an armada of higher dimensional beings.
- 💉April 2020: Seasoned students went on field trips around the United Kingdom to stop The Plague Doctor Cult from setting up Contamination Stations and Pandemic Parties meant to spread both Coronavirus and the dreaded Zombie Flu!
