How Do You Run An Office By Day And Battle The Supernatural By Night?

How Does Mystic Investigations Seemingly Operate 24 Hours A Day?

We don’t work 24-7 especially when some of us are human, and need a good 8 hours of sleep.  Although we are on call for emergencies 24-7.  We do work odd hours, and sometimes take turns doing things while the rest of us sleep.  In general our office is open 9-5 weekdays, and we often go out on cases during the day as well. These tend to be the lesser cases from non-paranormal investigations to people spotting paranormal beings on their property.  Although we get a few serious supernatural events during the day every so often.  Certainly our little office beach outing turned rather dangerous when we unexpectedly went up against the notorious Slender Man.  Usually the big time stuff goes down starting at the Witching Hour of 12:00 AM all the way through the Devil’s Hour (3:00 AM) until 4:00 AM.  Although things aren’t safe until the first light of dawn especially on full Moon nights when Werewolves are on the loose.

So our usual routine is office work, and field work investigations from 9 AM-5 PM.  Some of us catch 4 hours of sleep until Midnight when we might take turns going out on paranormal patrol around the town.  Graveyards, and key mystical locations are the most common patrol points.  One of us is always listening to the police scanner for any clues of paranormal activity out of the league of law enforcement.  Of course our close friend Sheriff Blake Maverick keeps us apprised of any supernatural situations. Sometimes we have planned appointments past Midnight.  These include house hauntings which are at their peak between 12-4 AM.  On Full Moon nights the whole team is out in full force incapacitating, and capturing Werewolves when possible.  Last night we were out until dawn handling an infestation of swamp monsters threatening a farmer, and his family.  On such full work nights we go right to the office afterward to get some work in, and those of us who need sleep go home at Noon.  This is especially true when our adrenaline is jacked up from a battle, and we just can’t sleep.  Drake Alexander, our vampire associate, might keep the offices open, or we will close early.  Today I simply took a nap in my office because I had a lot to do.  Our offices are fully equipped for daily living if we have to.  This comes in handy when our entire team is under threat, and staying in our individual homes would be dangerous.   It seems like most weekdays we sleep 4 hours in the evening, and 4 hours from 4-8 AM while being awake 12-4 AM. Some of us might put in a good 16 hours some days.  This is why I sometimes plan fun outings like going to the beach.  I only regularly get 8 hours in a row on the weekends but of course we are on call 24-7 since evil never sleeps, and can strike at any moment.  That’s one of the disadvantages of being a paranormal investigator in the thick of supernatural chaos. However at the end of the day it’s all worth it when you save lives, feel the thrill of paranormal excitement, discover the unknown, roll in the big bucks, drive the cool cars, wield the awesome gadgets, and date the hot chicks!
