Breaking Bad is a TV series about the seedy underworld of drug trafficking in New Mexico. It centers around a teacher named Walter White who becomes a meth cook and drug dealer to make massive money for his family in the wake of his cancer diagnosis. Lyle was a minor yet memorable character in the series. He was the loyal Assistant Manager of Los Pollos Hermanos in the TV series Better Call Saul. Of course, this was the Albuquerque, New Mexico restaurant front for Owner Gustavo Fring’s drug empire. With Better Call Saul being the prequel to Breaking Bad many have wondered why we never see Lyle in that series?
Why Wasn’t Cynthia In Better Call Saul?
Presumably, he’s still the Assistant Manager who simply never appears on camera. Naturally, we realize his character didn’t exist yet. This is reciprocal to the Manager of the restaurant, Cynthia, who only appears in Breaking Bad but not in the prequel. Again we simply never see her on camera as they wanted Lyle to play that role. A realistic explanation for this lies in the fact that Los Pollos Hermanos is open 7 days a week well over 12 hours each of those days. Not to mention the before and after hours for preparation and clean-up. It would stand to reason that either Cynthia, Lyle, or Gus would be in charge at differing time frames to handle these vast hours and retain some much-deserved off time. In Gus’s case, he needs to also run his vast drug cartel.
What Happened To Lyle and Cynthia?
Top-flight psychics, seers, and mystics have told us that Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are real in various Parallel Universes. It also exists within Microverses where fictional worlds become reality courtesy of the belief created by the Human Collective Consciousness. In the majority of these realities, the most common outcome was the shutdown of Los Pollos Hermanos in the aftermath of Gus Fring’s death and exposure as a drug kingpin. The role of the restaurant in drug trafficking, and money laundering is a PR nightmare that can’t be remedied by any means! There are also logistical issues with the ongoing DEA investigation.
Although Gustavo Fring was the Founder, it was a subsidiary of the parent corporation Madrigal Electromotive. Fring owned a substantial stake along with stock in Madrigal. Officially he served as the CEO of Los Pollos Hermanos. However, Madrigal had a slight majority and chose to cut ties with the 14 Los Pollos locations. They sold their stake to the Twisters restaurant chain which folded the locations into their brand. Those Twisters restaurants actually exist in our Universe. When you eat there you’re sitting in the same place the real Gus Fring and others in the Breaking Bad Universe have tread upon. It’s merely out of phase with our world.
The transfer of Los Pollos to Twisters was done with the cooperation of those who inherited Gus Fring’s stake in the business. Despite stating he had kids to Walter White in Breaking Bad we know Gus didn’t have any biological heirs. It was merely a ploy so Walter and other people could better relate to him. In his will, Gus left a fair amount of wealth to charities. However, Cynthia got a small inheritance with the largest amount going to loyal Lyle. Both Lyle and Cynthia were deeply disillusioned after learning about Fring’s criminal history and gladly cooperated with the sale of Los Pollos to Twisters.
Cynthia used her inheritance money to fund a community center to help people hooked on drugs and other downtrodden members of society. She felt guilt over being a part of a drug empire even if she had no knowledge of its existence. The center wasn’t far from the Los Pollos location she once managed. Later down the line, she got into law enforcement after dealing with some drug thugs down at the community center. At present Cynthia is a Lieutenant for the Albuquerque Police Department. She married a frequent Los Pollos customer named Nolan Miller and they have four kids together.🍗
What Happened To Lyle After Better Call Saul?
When meeting with Madrigal Electromotive in the sale of Los Pollos they were very impressed with his professionalism and enthusiasm. Despite Lyle having plenty of money, they funded his college education and he got a Master Of Business Administration degree. He also learned how to speak fluent German[Ad] and went to work at Madrigal in Germany. Lyle eventually became a top executive and was seriously wealthy even beyond his inheritance from Gus. This was thanks to various independent investments including trading on the world’s stock market exchanges. As of the writing of this article, Lyle is a Vice-President and Director Of Logistics. He more or less has the position of the late Lydia Rodarte Quayle who was an intermediary between Madrigal Supervisor Peter Schuler and Gus Fring in the illegal drug trade. Lyle is happily married to a German Princess he met at a Madrigal gala. They have two kids together. Lyle Jr. and Lilly.
Despite the disdain they felt for Gus’s actions, both Lyle and Cynthia still reflect on the fond memories of working for him during their time of blissful ignorance. They reluctantly acknowledge that some of the successes of their life are courtesy of Gus’s money. Some of which are linked to illegal activity. They live with that fact each day and have made peace with their past and ultimately forgive Gus for his wicked ways. He actually explained everything in letters they mysteriously received weeks after his death. This included information on access to secret cash reserves that were clearly from drug sales. Both Lyle and Cynthia did the right thing and turned the dirty money over to the authorities. God bless Lyle and Cynthia as Gus completes his cleansing in Purgatory. As the newly christened Angel Fring ascends to chicken Heaven Hector and other sinister Salamanca’s head to Hell!😈
Meanwhile In A Parallel Universe
In another reality, Lyle overhears Gus talking to Mike in the back of the restaurant. He then begins to follow various clues that lead him to the discovery of Gus Fring’s drug empire. He’s shocked and goes to confront Fring. He sees him driving away with some of his men and follows him to the future meth lab of Walter White. There Lalo Salamanca kills Gus’s men and that’s when Lyle bursts from the shadows to shield Fring from a bullet that wasn’t going to actually happen yet. Lalo is startled and shoots Lyle. The distraction is enough for Gus to draw his gun and kill Lalo. In that Universe, the gunfight in the unfinished meth lab never occurs. Gus rests on the floor holding Lyle as he dies. Lyle says, “Why Mr. Fring?” Gus replies, “I’m sorry Lyle.” Lyle passes on into the afterlife going directly to Heaven. Gus shows respect for Lyle and his sacrifice by not burying him with Howard and Lalo underneath the meth lab. He is placed in the sainted soils of a flowering field overlooking a beautiful canyon underneath the lovely New Mexican skies.
Cynthia Falls Prey To Hector
Interestingly enough, Cynthia ends up also saving Gus in that reality. After developing an unhealthy obsession with Lyle’s untimely disappearance she eventually finds out about Fring’s secret drug kingpin life as well. She follows Gus to the nursing home where he gets blown sky-high by Hector and Walt’s wheelchair bomb. At this point, she knows about Hector’s past as well. Clearly, she has natural investigative skills that later lead her into a career in law enforcement. Cynthia burst into Hector’s room causing Gus’s bodyguard to wrestle with her. They both fall on the floor next to Hector’s wheelchair. They stop fighting as Cynthia points to the bomb and says, “What the hell is that?” At that moment Hector begins frantically ringing the bell to activate the destructive device. The bodyguard screams, “It’s a bomb, sir!” He bolts up and hustles Gus out the door as Cynthia bears the brunt of the blast along with Hector. She immediately ascends to Heaven as Gus mutters near the wreckage, “What the hell was she doing here?”
Later Gus spins the incident as simply being in the wrong place and at the wrong time. He was believed when he exclaimed he had no knowledge of Hector’s past and thought he was simply helping out an old disabled guy. Gus quickly realized Walt was behind the assassination attempt and White was later taken down with extreme prejudice! Fring went on to take down the Mexican drug cartel he seriously loathed and took over as the greatest drug kingpin in North America. He lives on to this day with great success that includes Los Pollos Hermanos expanding all over the continent and beyond!🐔

Psychics have learned that Lyle’s last name is Panabaker. Lyle Xavier Panabaker to be precise. Cynthia’s maiden name is Alejo. Of course, upon marriage, she became Cynthia Lucia Miller. Obviously, their full names were never revealed in the television shows to protect their identities.🙄
