He was a member of a sub-race of Kryptonians that evolved separately on one of Krypton’s Moons. In that reality the planet like Moon flourishing with life was called Argon. This also explains why his version of Jor-El wants him to conquer the Earth. The sub-Kyptonians of Argon are known to be violent with many ending up in the Phantom Zone. Often, they had aspirations to conquer Krypton and take what they saw as their rightful place to lead.

Despite his lowly lineage the CornSweat Superman is still righteous in using his powers for the greater good of humankind. Mostly due to being raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent. Unfortunately, he is still quite weak compared to all the other Supermen! In the 2025 Superman film it was quite believable that Green Lantern implied he could beat Superman. Hell, even the Batman of that reality could easily neutralize him!
