Every four years we have a Leap Year that adds an extra day to February to correct the inevitable discrepancy between the movement of celestial objects and the human-created calendar. That day is February 29th. There is a 1 in 1,461 (.068%) chance of being born on that day. Those born on that extra day are called Leaplings or Leapers. Their birthday wishes are four times as potent and more likely to occur. This makes up for no wishes most years. In fact, attempting to celebrate their birthday on some other day is considered bad luck!
It’s said Leapers have the best potential at developing Chronokinetic time travel powers. Abilities most likely to activate if they discover their soulmate was born on that day in the distant past or future. Then they can perform a “Somewhere In Time” maneuver. In ancient times Leap Day was the only time a woman could propose to a man. If he rejected her then bad luck would befall him. This is supernaturally backed by Saint Patrick, Saint Brigid, and Saint Valentine. The paranormal power holds to this day despite being unnecessary in modern times. We suggest guys hide out on Leap Day to avoid unwanted proposals!
Legend has it that Father Time lost his Leap Year Medallion some centuries ago. It happened when he was unexpectedly attacked by a legion of temporal demons. A teenage Baby New Year aided in repelling the demons. The medallion was a metaphysical manifestation of Leap Day utilized for various purposes. He was granted a new one by Archangels but the old one is still out there somewhere. Ancient anecdotes indicate people who managed to gain access to it were able to time travel to any Leap Day in Earth’s history. However, failure to return to their time of origin before the end of the Leap Day caused them to be lost in time. If you find the Leap Year Medallion use it with great care!⏳
😈 The Devil has been toying with the idea of setting up a terrifying trap to catch souls on Leap Day. Something akin to his Daylight Savings horror. So far the forces of good have prevented it from coming to fruition.
