Most likely nobody has ever had a true near death experience because your soul doesn’t go to the great beyond, and then come back. You’re either dead or you’re not. If someone really died, and was frozen. Then brought back to life after 1000 years they would have no memory of an afterlife because the soul has no grasp of time. It exists outside of time, and won’t move on to the heavenly realms until you really don’t exist here ever again. Most NDE’s are the brain panicking as it feels the body processes giving out, and feels the soul slipping away. Many times what people see are based on their own religious or after life beliefs. When that isn’t the case then what they’re seeing is what they really believe at a sub-conscious level.
However reports of people standing or hovering over their bodies are true in many cases. Out of body experiences are the closest thing to near death experiences.
