Insomnia is common among those cursed with Lycanthropy. Even if they previously slept like a baby at night before they were bitten by a Werewolf. Those used to a diurnal lifestyle find themselves wanting to stay awake at night when they’d rather be sleeping. In human form, a Werewolf is naturally more active by night and will want to at least take a handful of naps throughout the daytime. Fortunately, it’s usually not bad enough for them to change their life around. Often, they’ll be the ones knocking back several caffeinated beverages, energy drinks, and B12 pills during the day.
They tend to work the second or third shift if they’re involved in manual labor. However, on the nights of the full moon, when they transform into Werewolves, they are awake all-night rampaging about the dark shadows of the lunar light. Clearly, they will plan to have those days off or utilize sick days. When they return to human form in the morning, they are usually dead tired and will want to sleep for at least half the day. If they work the first shift, they will definitely plan to miss work. Those who take off or are repeatedly “ill” during full moons are to be suspected as Werewolves .🐺
It’s rarely a feeling of insomnia. It is the lack of a feeling of a need for sleep. So for most of a month I’ll sleep very little, but you’re quite right, the transformation is incredibly draining, unbearable in every way you could possibly imagine and then further.
Thank you for providing us with a first hand insight into the plight of a Werewolf.
We here at Mystic Investigations embrace all good paranormal beings. However we must face the prospect of thwarting Werewolves who would harm innocent humans. They may be evil humans by day, innocents who know not what they are, or those who are simply irresponsible, and refuse to cage or chain themselves up on the nights of the full moon. When facing Werewolves we ideally attempt to use tranquilizers which are usually made of Wolfsbane, and trace amounts of silver. Then we take them back to our headquarters, and cage them. At dawn when they return to human form we educate them on their condition, and release them. Some in fact choose to utilize our facility during the full moon. At first light we offer them a hearty breakfast, and believe me they can eat thrice as much as a normal human due to the amazing energy drain of the transformation. Unfortunately the tranquilizers can take some time to work, and if there is an immediate danger to human life we must reluctantly resort to silver bullets. We definitely don’t support Werewolf Hunters who mercilessly hunt down Lycanthropes for mere sport, or as a rare delicacy for the wealthy elites.
Plight, yes… But to you, is it that of a friend, or an enemy?
Four people have died because of me. That was five years ago. It was before I understood. It will never happen again. I’m safe. I’ve learned the control. Yes, it IS a learned skill, and takes more than I could have ever have expected I would be able to give. It’s not good enough. I have a system. I found an empty warehouse, and stole some silver stuff to hang over the doors… I know, I know, it seems dangerous, but its worked fine. Scotland is a big enough place.
Scotland is one of the premier hearts of mystical activity on Earth. Indeed people live there at their own risk. Luckily many are aware of the paranormal, and prepared to defend themselves.
But thank you. Not everyone remembers that we are still human really.
Yes it’s hard to remember the humanity when a large looming monstrous beast lunges at you with razor sharp teeth ready to rip into your flesh. However real trained paranormal professionals know to keep their cool, and try to save the Werewolf at all costs so as not take away someone’s family or friend.
