Herbert Hoover, the 31st President Of The United States, is sometimes referred to as the Republican Jimmy Carter due to the sorry state of the economy during his tenure. There’s also the fact he held the record for the longest Presidential retirement until Jimmy surpassed him. Both men were elected to the White House with great optimism and hope yet left defeated and humiliated as One Termers. However, both Presidents were applauded for being humanitarians. Hoover is most famously known for presiding over the inception of The Great Depression. Less than a year into his Presidency the infamous Wall Street Crash of October 1929 marked the beginning of long term economic decline. This set the stage for the landslide victory of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932.
Hoover’s Attempt To Salvage His Presidency
[Amazon Ad]Unlike his successor Roosevelt, Hoover believed in limited government intervention and hoped the economy would recover on its own. When it became painfully obvious that wasn’t going to happen, he enacted various counter measures. This included the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 designed to raise U.S. tariffs on imported goods to protect American industries. Unfortunately, it backfired by sparking international trade retaliation. This worsened the growing global depression. Hoover promoted public works to combat unemployment, most notably the Hoover Dam, which began construction in 1931. In 1932 he created the Reconstruction Finance Corporation to provide emergency loans to banks, railroads, and other institutions. Ultimately, none of these corrective measures were enough to reverse The Great Depression.
Herbert Hoover And The Sasquatch
Herbert was born on August 10, 1874, within rural Iowa. After both of Herbert’s parents died, he was sent to Oregon to live with his uncle in 1885 at the age of 11. It was there he had a run in with a Bigfoot while roaming about the dense mysterious forests of the great Northwest. The hairy beast abruptly whisked little Herbie away to the hidden stronghold of the Sasquatch people. Among them lived Native American tribes who had been hiding from the US Government and violent frontiersmen since the mid-1800’s. It seems one of the Native families had recently suffered the death of a child and they presented Hoover as a replacement.
Naturally, that didn’t work out and young Hoover was returned after three days. His story of witnessing multiple Sasquatch families and Indian tribes living in their traditional ancient ways was dismissed as the active imagination of youth. It was strongly suggested he never speak of such things ever again for fear of being branded a kook! Sometime after his Presidency a disillusioned Hoover headed back to the forests of Oregon to find Bigfoot and the Native tribes. Plausibly looking for some meaning to life and guidance on what to do next. He was unable to locate them. With the aid of paranormal experts Herbert tried one more time near the end of his long life as he hoped they could help him with his health maladies. No contact with the paranormal was achieved.
Hoover’s Humanitarian Efforts
[Amazon Ad]His mostly positive experience with Bigfoot and natural Natives most likely influenced him to reform the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) during his presidency. Under Hoover the BIA was reorganized to improve its administrative process by reducing corruption and inefficiency. They aimed to limit exploitation of Native Americans, promote better education, healthcare, and economic development on reservations. His brush with the supernatural also caused him to quietly direct secret factions of the US Government to investigate the existence of the elusive Bigfoot long before it came into the public consciousness.
The Paranormal Presidency?
The Bigfoot Sasquatch Thinker Statue [Amazon Ad]Upon becoming President, he was shocked by the true extent of paranormal activity on Earth! The Sasquatch was the tip of the iceberg. He felt lucky he made it through his childhood in rural Iowa and Oregon without anything more than the Sasquatch encounter! Hoover was far too busy dealing with the economy and other non-metaphysical matters to do much with these top-secret revelations. The only thing he directly dealt with were the occasional ghosts haunting the White House. Mostly, a secret department of seasoned ghost whisperers kept things under control. This is something every President has dealt with since at least the Mid-1800’s. The Hoover administrations hands off approach to the supernatural world saw a great increase in monstrous mayhem! Chaotic creatures of the night preyed mercilessly on desperate homeless victims of The Great Depression.๐บ๐ธ
