The generation they were sired from along with their age determines if the bullets bounce off or actually enter the vampire’s body to varying degrees. Vampires heal quickly when they consume human blood. If bullets have entered their body they are either expelled or absorbed through the healing process. That being said, silver or wood bullets can weaken or even kill a vampire. Still, it is best not to risk a run-in with a supernatural blood sucker if you’re not an experienced Slayer.
