Mystic Investigations has been chosen by Ian McTavish, one of the greatest Sorcerers on Earth, to investigate a series of unfortunate events at the prestigious McTavish International Academy Of Magical Sciences. The amazing academy is Rebecca Abernathy’s alma mater, and it’s magically cloaked on the shores of Loch Ness in the highlands of Scotland. The Headmaster McTavish doesn’t know who to trust anymore, and he judged Rebecca to be a good soul. Since we’re gaining a global reputation in paranormal investigations Ian decided our team might be able to get to the bottom of things. We took Duanna Sargon’s private jet. Before take off Drake Alexander’s vampire stalker, Elamia, hopped on to the wing as we were taking off, and punched a hole through the window. Duanna punched her in the face causing her to launch into a pond at the end of the tarmac. She vowed vengeance as she wallowed in the scum ridden waters. Once in the air many of us had fun while others fell asleep.
Once in Scotland we were welcomed as guests by one of Duanna’s vampire sons, Lord Cornwell. He had a huge castle in the picturesque Scottish countryside. Cornwell seemed like a stick in mud, and was very formal in all that he said, and did. He also insisted on being called Lord Cornwell or Sir Cornwell. Duanna seemed to gain joy by calling him Corny which made him cringe. Drake was eager to look for the home he grew up in as a child in 13th century Scotland. He thought it would be difficult with centuries of changing landscape but thanks to help from our psychic Julia Hathaway, Rebecca Abernathy;s magic, and his vampire mother Duanna we found the site of his home. The home used to sit at the foot of a Feudal Estate where his father was a serf. Now the entire area was woodland with only some random stones from the old manor. There was nothing left of Drake’s home. However he began digging into the Earth until it gave way beneath him, and he fell into a deep hole lined with stones. Drake said his father built a hiding place beneath their home to hide from the Feudal Lord McAllister’s drunken fits. He would get tanked up every so often, and go around declaring himself God over everyone. As Drake cleared the dirt from the walls we could see drawings he, his father, and mom had made. Drake then removed a stone to reveal a nearly rotted wood box. Inside was what he called the Amulet Of Andrew. Andrew being the patron saint of Scotland. His mother had given it to him for protection as a small child. Unfortunately when he tried to hold it in his hand it burned due to his demonic vampire DNA. I took it for him instead. Drake decided he was going to look into buying this land, and building a vacation home here.
The next day we all went to McTavish International Academy Of Magical Sciences. We walked to the shore of Loch Ness on a partly cloudy day in the upper 30’s with some fog rolling off the water. Our Cryptozoologist Ashley Abercrombie took our a special whistle to call forth the great Loch Ness Monster which none of us except Rebecca had seen before since he’s the magic schools mascot. Like many students she had the unique experience of riding around on the friendly Nessie. The great dinosaur like beast rose his head from the water, and let out an other worldly bellow as Rebecca yelled,”Nessie over here! It’s me Rebecca!” His bellows sounded like a laugh of sorts as he swam toward us like a flash of lightening. He came slightly on shore with his long front flippers sticking out, and his long giraffe like neck bowing down to kiss Rebecca. She giggled, and said,”Awww I missed you to Nessie!” Rebecca said she was going to ride Nessie into the school which was invisibly cloaked to everyone except those who have attended. So she was the only one who could see the buildings, and grounds further down the shore. She told us to walk in that direction, and wait for the academy to appear. Rebecca wanted me to join her but I wasn’t too keen on hitching a ride aboard the Loch Ness Monster. Although Zack Powers was more than happy to experience the magic of riding aloft a paranormal prehistoric aquatic beast. So they whooshed away on Nessie while the rest of us took in the sights of the Scottish countryside. After walking for a time Drake, and Duanna suddenly slammed into something invisible that nearly caused them to fall over. The rest of us had no issues walking further ahead while they stood there puzzled. Suddenly a stone building formed around us with Drake, and Duanna on the outside. We turned around to find a medieval looking castle with students bustling about. Rebecca, and a tall commanding figure of at least 6′ 5″ in height wearing a green velvet cape. He had emerald green eyes that almost seemed to glow with power, and nearly shoulder length hair that was crimson in color. In a booming John Tesh kind of voice he greeted us,”Welcome my friends from Mystic Investigations! I’m Ian McTavish!” Rebecca kept looking at him in this smitten kind of way as she had her arm around his. I think I was a bit jealous…LOL.
We all introduced ourselves. Ian was the kind of guy to give up all overbearing hand shakes that were borderline painful while gently kissing all the ladies hands. Our teenage bionic boy wonder Zack said later that he bent one of his steel fingers. Luckily nanobots repaired it instantly. Apparently Ian only decreases his hand shake grip if you grimace slightly. I inquired about why Duanna, and Drake could not enter. Rebecca then said she forgot about vampires not being allowed in the Academy. She knew both of them so well that she never thinks of them as vampires. Ian knew of their work in the fight against evil, and he waved his hand causing a portion of the wall to become invisible again. Duanna, and Drake were still standing there looking quite annoyed as Ian declared,”Enter my friends! Welcome to the McTavish International Academy Of Magical Sciences!” Ian took Duanna’s hand, and kissed it. He then said,”My what a strikingly beautiful vampiress you are. Sorry I don’t swing that way my dear.” He then let out a roar of a laugh. I assume he meant he wasn’t into vampire love interests. Duanna gave him a cross look. She only continued to tag along with us because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the academy. Ian then said,”Ah yes Drake always good to meet a fellow Scotsman!” As he shook Drakes hand I heard a bone crack as Drake winced. Ian then replied,”Oh sorry my friend! Sometimes I don’t know my own strength!” He then chuckled a bit. My first impression of this guy was that of a blowhard with a huge ego but he has been a powerful force of good in the world so I suppose he had every right to act like a big shot. He was sure a hell of lot better than that rigid Sir Corny. He motioned for us to gather around him closely, and lowered his voice when he said,”There’s been a lot of unusual, and unfortunate incidents around our once peaceful Academy. I don’t know who to fully trust so as we travel about these hallowed halls I will introduce you as professors, and colleagues. The youngling will be a student naturally.” Zack frowned a bit as Ian slapped him on his bionic arm. It nearly caused him to fall over. This McTavish was one strong bastard physically, and magically!
He took us on a brief tour of the large magic school consisting of a huge grey stoned castle in the middle of the grounds right on the shore of Loch Ness, and several other medieval looking structures around it with plenty of field, and forest landscape in between. There was a huge moat around the entire estate that emptied or was supplied by Loch Ness at two points. The water moved in an odd manner. I couldn’t really tell which way it was going. In the center of the mystical grounds was a huge water fountain with gold, and silver coins thrown in it for good luck, and wishes. Various paranormal animals trotted about including a gaggle of rainbow glittering peacocks strutting to, and fro. Every so often they would fly a few feet in the air leaving a trail of glittering dust behind which would take several minutes to settle to the ground. The most spectacular was a bright white Unicorn that came up to us leaving a trail of iridescent sparkled behind it. She was supposedly one of the only trained Unicorns on Earth since they are notoriously shy, and cautious creatures. The Unicorns mystical rainbow colored eyes with intermittent shimmering was quite mesmerizing. We all petted her silky soft coat as Drake said,”This isn’t the Unicorn I saved coming back to grant me a wish is it?” Ian replied,”Not likely Drake! This fine creature has never left these grounds in decades! Tell us of your life saving tale!” Drake doesn’t like to brag but he reluctantly replied,”Well in October of 2010 I saved a Unicorn from a Werewolf attack in Woodland Springs.” McTavish then replied,”You magnificent bastard!” as he patted Drake on the back with such force that he nearly fell over. He then countered,”I saved this lovely lass when she was just a little foal….from a pack of 13 Werewolves under the spell of a trio of Wizards but whose counting huh Drake old man!” He forcefully slapped Drake in the back again, and Drake replied,”Damn Ian!” Drake then slapped Ian super hard on his back causing him to bend over a bit. Both men started laughing as Ian said,”Damn Alexander you really pack a wallop!” Then we all started laughing at what I have no idea. This caused the Unicorn to bolt away, and then we all abruptly stopped.
All the professors, staff, and students seem nice for the most part but one professor in particular gave me the creeps. He was a sinister looking man with frazzled black hair, and cold coal black blood shot eyes who wore a dark purple robe, and a glittering gold vest underneath it. He muttering something as he gave us all cold stares. McTavish yelled at him as he walked away,”Professor Velnias please don’t spend so much time talking to us. You’re chewing our ears off man!” We all started laughing, and he said,”Velnias is a bastard but he’s a damn fine professor of Necromancy!” Once in Headmaster McTavish’s office, and home, which was a small castle on a hill overlooking the entire school, he gave us our assignments so we could blend in, and investigate various incidents which includes zombies, werewolves, and all manner of evil creatures somehow infiltrating the school. Some students, and professors having such horrific nightmares that they woke up with wounds. Usually within the wall of this hallowed institution everyone has sweet vivid dreams due to a magic dream spell. There have also been numerous menacing apparitions appearing despite powerful protection spells in place. In addition there have been various acts of sabotage that have caused some injuries. Thankfully nobody has died yet. Again Ian many centuries ago personally put powerful protection spells to prevent injury, and death. There has never been an issue until now. He didn’t want to admit it but he was clearly shaken that something was undermining his almighty authority, and magical powers of sorcery. So we headed off to get to the bottom of things. Unfortunately, as I began to leave the office I turn around, and see Ian hugging Rebecca while kissing her on the cheek. Man this guy really thinks he’s something doesn’t he? To Be Continued…
CONDENSED ENDING REVEALED: We discovered that one of the Professors was the most powerful dark Sorcerer on Earth Dimitri Diablo. He hid his true appearance behind a magical Glamour. Diablo later became the King Of Hell. He was perpetrating a nefarious plot to acquire more paranormal power by finding a hidden artifact in the school along with siphoning powers from staff and students. Dimitri also negatively influenced students into following him down a perplexing path to damnation. He was aided by allies on staff who had been infiltrating the school for years. This ultimately culminated in The Fourth Battle Of McTavish on Christmas Day after he was exposed. The Headmaster Sorcerer Ian McTavish, his allies, students, and Mystic Investigations banished Diablo and his motley crew from the school in an epic battle. One even greater than that time traveler from the future in The Fifth Battle Of McTavish. Some say this battle was a pre-battle to the First Battle Of Armageddon that took place on Halloween 2013. Mainly due to various power players who entered the fantastical fray! Unfortunately, Diablo got away with the magical artifact that played a role in his eventual takeover of Hell.
