From my readings it appears the magic I know and practice is magic used by Sorcerers. Aswell  as the background of them matches what I was taught and told by the one who trained me. I still personally would like to know more. Any suggestions on how I should practice? No one, not even my teacher really gave me the direction I needed. The help would be appreciated.

Most likely you would have to meditate and look for the source of the magick. Sorcerers tend to steal and fight for others magick so be careful, and have a protection barrier.
