Mermaids Coral Reef / How Many Varieties Of Mermaids Are There?

The video above documents potential naturally evolved Mermaids as opposed to the supernatural variety that originated from the lost continent of Atlantis where humans with latent extraterritorial DNA utilized magic to become Mermaids.  The Atlantean Mermaids would rarely come into contact with anyone they didn't want to see.  This would especially include the US government.  The Mermaids in the video look nothing like our very own Rebecca Abernathy's Mermaid Relatives who look like strikingly beautiful humans from the waist up, and fish like from the waist down.  There is a naturally evolved Mermaid species from a planet in the Gliese 581 which is 20.3 light years from Earth.  Evidence indicates they had interactions with human in the early days of Atlantis, and contributed their DNA there.  The Mermaids in the videos could be those aliens, or perhaps the Gliese 581 Mermaids visited back when we were apes, and experimented with inserting their DNA to drive evolution in anther direction.  It seems far fetched that an ape would revert into a fish like creature in the same amount of time we evolved into full fledged humans.  We at Mystic Investigations have never run into the Mermaids mentioned in the video since they would be quite rare without the protections of magic, and special supernatural powers.

In addition to the previous Mermaids mentioned there are legends of albino ice Mermaids who evolved trapped in underground iced over lakes in Antarctica.  Their body is said to be a sickly white all over.  There are a few isolated sighting throughout history which could be those who escaped from the ice.

General Discussions / Strange Thing Happened When I Switched On A Light

I went to turn a light on last night, and both me, and Rebecca saw the lamp light up.  I turn it off some time later.  Then return to switch it back on, and it won't light up.  I look and see there's no light bulb.  All the sudden I remember I took a burnt bulb out of a week ago, and had none to put in.  I forgot to replace it.  So how the hell did the lamp switch on with no light bulb?  If Rebecca hadn't seen it then I would have assumed I was going mental.  Rebecca has no explanation.  Anyone had anything like this happen to them?

Rebecca, and Julia had what seemed to be a simple case of finding out if a man was cheating on his wife who hired us.  It turns out the sicko had a harem of women under his magical spell since he was a Warlock.  Luckily he was a low level practitioner of magic that Rebecca was able to handle.  Drake, and Ashley cleaned out a cave full of vampire bats that were terrorizing a neighborhood.  Elizabeth, Rob, and I investigated a haunted inn.  There were two violent poltergeists who were dispatched with extreme prejudice.  Hunter, and Zack took down a gang of nefarious Los Angeles drug thugs looking to gain a toe hold in Woodland Springs.  Father Tom, and Duanna dealt with a girl possessed by a demon.  It was pretty much a normal week here at Mystic Investigations!  

In addition Sheriff Blake Maverick announced he would not enforce any Federal gun bans, or any other unconstitutional laws for that matter.  He vowed to protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States Of America.  After his news conference he received numerous threats.  Most of our team was temporarily deputized, and we along with his regular deputies looked into the various incidents.  He is the only law enforcement that believes in the world of the supernatural, and has referred numerous cases to us.  There was one particularly pathetic incident of a misguided man who threw a cream pie in Maverick's face while screaming,"Peace Forever!  Down With All Wicked Weapons!"  We tracked the thirty something on again, off again college student, Unemployment collector, and self-professed master of Dungeons And Dragons Larping (Live Action Role Playing) to his parents basement on the outskirts of Woodland Springs.  It seems he's been the instigator for many incidents of vandalism, and threats against those who believe in the 2nd amendment.  We enlightened him to the freedoms in the Constitution along with introducing him to the real world of the paranormal.  Drake, and Rebecca in particular set him straight.  Now that he realizes the threat from paranormal beings he finally sees the need for firearms.  However he will most likely remain the dark shadows of his parents basement playing videos games.

However we receive threats from the Dark Drake every so often.  The Dark One is in league with the Anti-Claus who have plans to usher the Anti-Christ into the world.  Their former partner in crime the sinister sorcerer Dimitri Diablo now wants to eradicate them since he only plays for his own team, and does not want the Anti-Christ to be born so the Devil may move forward with his plans for global domination.  Diablo wishes to re-take Hell, and then the rest of the Universe.  We're hoping both sides will destroy each other.  We can only hope!

Politics / How Does Gun Control Affect The World Of The Supernatural?

Like evil humans the dark forces of paranormal evil would love all guns to be banned.  In the case of human criminals they will always have guns stowed away, or get them on the black market.  Law abiding citizens on the other hand will turn in their guns, and not buy them illegally.  This leaves people defenseless, and the criminals know with almost certainty that any home, or business they enter will be gun free.  Naturally the police usually get the scene after the crime is over, and the perpetrators of evil are long gone.

When it comes to supernatural beings most of the time simple guns will do little good unless you have special bullets.  Often silver in composition.  However these nefarious paranormal beings will at least be slowed down so you can make your escape.  And of course this is just for biological beings, and not the non-corporeal, and those made of energy.  That beings said some deterrent is better than none.

So in the end gun control, or outright banning of guns, will leave us all completely defenseless against criminals of a human, and supernatural nature.  Let's face it gun control has been incremental for decades.  The ultimate goal is gun banning as is the case in many nations of the world.  It's the only way to have complete domination over a populace that God forbid yearns for real freedom.  If the government obeyed the law, aka the Constitution, then under the 2nd amendment there could be no gun control what so ever.  No gun bans in cities.  The 2nd amendment specifically states:

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"

"shall not be infringed" means the government is not authorized to make any law related to arms what so ever!  If the citizens are the source of the governments power, and it's a nation of the people then they should have the same arms as the government as another check, and balance against tyranny.

If guns were to be banned Mystic Investigations would have no problems continuing the fight against supernatural evil.  We rarely use guns with bullets except in cases of mass violent werewolf, or zombie incursion.  Luckily squirt guns with holy water, colloidal silver, and various mystical herbs are a great defense when it comes to evil Werewolves, and other evil entities.  Zombies are easy to take down with sharp implements so we'll be fine on that count as well. Business would go on as usual but we would feel bad for those who know not of the supernatural threat, and the alternative measures of dark defense.  All they have are their guns.  Pray that the law of the land, the Constitution, is restored someday for all our general safety!

Politics / Can The Congress, And Entire The Federal Government Be Dissolved?

Apparently yes if enough States call an Article 5 Constitutional Convention, and ratify a new Constitutional Amendment stating that the Federal government is dissolved.  It would be a great way to make the impossibly gargantuan mess of the Federal government go away instantly.  Everything they ever did would be reversed.  From Obamacare, to income taxes, to unfair treaties that take jobs way, all the Executive Orders, regulations, and laws that are beyond the Federal right under the Constitution.  All the troops could come home to protect our borders, and the world would rejoice at the peace that would ensue.  Provided other nations controlled by corrupt corporatist didn't decide to continue wars in the real name of seizing resources, and riches.  Once the government was dissolved the States could start over, and put a new Federal government in place, or decide to be independent.  Of course there would be the issue of Federal benefits people rely on such as social security, medicare, food stamps, etc.  Before dissolution the States would have to put alternate programs in place which would be funded by their own taxes.  Naturally people would be able to pay more to the States once the Federal income tax was gone.  For immediate funding the States would take any gold, silver, and other riches the defunct Federal government had.  The US dollar would be worthless unless the States decided to collectively start printing new currency, or each State might have it's own money which could be exchanged for Federal Reserve notes.

It would take some planning, and cooperation between the States but this may be the only way to end the insane out of control Federal governments tyranny, spending, and violent wars abroad.  At this point the government is too huge to get under control, and limit to legal Constitutional status.  It would be like trying to untangle a one mile circumference tangled ball of wires.  Only 34 State Legislators are needed to call a Constitutional Convention, and only 38 are needed to ratify a new amendment.  Now of course odds are slim that the US government would even acknowledge the dissolution amendment since obeying the law, aka the Constitution, has never been their strong suit.  They have a God complex that has gone to their collectively big heads. The fine men, and women of the military would have to side with the States in order for this too really happen.  None of this is bloody likely but hey we can dream!

Or actually the guide for anyone who can't decipher a 2700 page document of idiocy that will affect every American citizen.  Although I guess it doesn't affect us at Mystic Investigations because we already provide all our employees with top flight health insurance which they don't need most of the time due to either being supernatural beings, or partaking of the paranormal healing skills of our White Witch Rebecca Abernathy, and our Cryptozoologist Dr. Ashley Abercrombie.  Of course insurance premiums will rise but we don't mind because we offer only the best for our employees who risk their lives each day fighting the forces of supernatural evil.  Overall Obamacare will seriously jack up our health care system with rising costs, and a lack of doctors for the new wave of millions of patients who have previously gotten by without seeing a doctor.  Some doctors say they will retire early just to avoid the influx of all these patients.  Then we have the thousands of new government employees who will enforce the Obamacare law forcing everyone to buy health insurance or face fines.  Get The Obamacare Survival Guide At: http://mysticinvestigations.com/obamacare_for_dummies.htm.

Politics / New Constitution, And Restoration Of The Republic

We need a totally new election system, and government as well.  Volunteers have their name put in a pool, and names are randomly chosen for us to elect.  They then serve one year no matter what the post.  No matter what level of government from local to Federal.  They're also paid a huge sum of money.  At least at the Federal, and State level so it's like someone wins a prize.  Unfortunately this might be the only way to get a lot of volunteers but a new ultra minimal government would make huge payments no big deal.  Any evidence of insider trading results in loss of money, and a conviction of high treason.  After they're year is up their employer must give them their real job back.  There would be no career politicians.  Also no political parties allowed as well.

The Executive Branch would be eliminated with everything falling under Congress.  There would also be a new Citizens Branch of government above each level of government from local to Federal.  Their sole job is to watch the government, and enforce the Constitutional upon them.  They would have their own police to arrest anyone in government breaking the law.  The President would be nothing more than a National spokesperson, and Ambassador working for Congress.  The State Legislators would once again choose the Senators as well.  Also the Judicial Branch would be made up of 100 Judges along with a jury of 50 citizens.  1 Judge from each State appointed by the States Supreme Court, and 1 Judge elected by the people.  The jury would be randomly chosen from each state.  This might seem excessive but nine people shouldn't have control of one branch of government, and certainly one person, aka the President, shouldn't have any power what so ever over a branch of government.  In addition no private banks allowed in government.

Mystic Investigations News / The Dark Vampire Elamia Eradicated!

You may not have heard about Drake Alexander's stalker.  A vampire daughter of Meistiensos, and older vampire sister of Duanna Sargon, Drake's vampire mother.  She blamed Drake for Meistiensos death, and was randomly attacking Drake for months at his home, the office, and even public places.  She worked in a hit, run, and hide method so Duanna was never able to find her.  Elamia also perpetuated numerous psychic, and astral attack on Drake as well.  When we traveled to the McTavish International Academy Of Magical Sciences in Scotland she had hopped on the wing of the airplane.  Drake gave the following account of that event:

"I don't think Elamia knew where we were going as we purposely mentioned nothing to each other even when we thought we were alone due to vampire super hearing.  Even the pilots were instructed to only write communications related to the flight until we were in the air.  Elamia must have been watching my house, and followed us because I look out the window as we're taking off, and she's hanging on the wing. She makes it to a window, and punches through it.  Duanna rushes over, and punches her in the face through the window while screaming,"Be gone wench!"  Elamia plummeted into a pond at the end of the tarmac yelling how she will get us for this.  Clearly we would have to land with a window missing.  However Rebecca, and Duanna conjured up a quick spell.  Apparently they thickened the air in the window well to such an extent that it became a shield of sorts until the window could be replaced in Scotland."

Once we returned from the North Pole, after out Scottish trip, we heard nothing from her.  Drake assumed she had gotten a life.  Unfortunately she returned this afternoon when Rebecca, and I were gone.  She brutally attacked Drake in the hallway outside Julia Hathaway's office, and began ripping his clothes to shreds while screaming obscenities.  Drake managed to kick her away into Julia's office.  She then lunged at Julia with red glowing eyes, and fangs flaring forth but Julia utilized her telekinetic powers to launch the crazy wench through the glass, and out the window into the parking lot.  We pulled up to find a burning mass thanks to the holy sunlight's deadly power upon vampires.  Rebecca, and Ashley vacuumed up her ashes for use in various spells, and potions.  We called for a window repair to come out but it's damn difficult to get anyone here on a Friday or the weekend.  Looks like we'll be putting some plastic up.  No big deal I suppose since it's a second floor window.

Politics / Theorize A New Form Of Government

A government that could be kept from the hands of corporatists, and plutocrats so that the people can be free.

I was thinking that realistically the 3 branches of checks, and balances are a joke.  All three work in unison anyway. Also why should one guy, aka the President, have all the power of one branch?  Power used to even take away the weak Congress's power.  There were some Founding Father's who knew a President could become a King, and they never wanted one.  Why should only 9 have the power of the judicial branch?  Nine who aren't even elected by the people, or appointed by a State Legislature.  They're chosen by one guy, and approved by a Congressional committee for a lifetime term.  Ultimately only the people should have power, and the government should be our faithful servant.

I say combine the three branches into Congress.  Repeal the 17th amendment so Senator become beholden to the State Legislatures again.  Have a new house which would be a supreme court of sorts.  It would be composed of 50 judges who would make sure bills are Constitutional before they're passed.  All the Federal agencies, and departments would be under Congressional rule.  The President would be replaced with a national ambassador who would be nothing more than a spokesperson for the country.  There would be no insider trading allowed. one year terms limits, and the person would have the right to return to their real job because there should be no such thing as a career politician.  There would be no political parties allowed in government.  No corporations, and or banks allowed in government.  All elections would be done by paper ballot to prevent fraud.   Only government money would pay for elections so no donations allowed.  Candidates would be chosen from a random volunteer pool so just about any average person could get elected to office.  No more corporatist cronies.  These general ideas would extend to all levels of government down to the community level.  No more of this one guy power trip crap!  Single, or small groups of judges would not have power.  Governors, County Executives, and Mayors would not have power!

In addition a citizens level of government would exist above the main government at each level.  A group of citizens randomly chosen from a volunteer pool would be government watch dogs as another check, and balance.  They would be the police of the government in essence ready to arrest anyone who violates the Constitution, and engages in corruption.

Politics / Who Did You Want To Win The Presidential Election Of 2012?

The poll is for who you'd would have liked to see as our President rather than who you actually voted for.   We realize a good number will vote for one candidates so the other won't be President. In reality it will be one of the two major parties since 3rd parties are locked out of the rigged election system.All of us at Mystic Investigations are either voting 3rd party or voting Mitt Romney to end the Obama's reign.  However we're not endorsing Mitt Romney.  Most of us support Gary Johnson who represents the true party of freedom the Libertarian Party.
